The magical beach and city combination covers the best of both worlds and allows you to kick-off your shoes for the ceremony, but feel the asphalt under your feet again for a glam city reception.

The Story:

Their intimate wedding with 50 of their closest friends and family had to let their fun-loving personalities shine through and showcase the beauty of South Africa. The beach ceremony, boasting spectacular views across Kommetjie Beach to Chapman’s peak, commenced with guests receiving refreshing homemade lemonade and handheld parasols to offer some protection against the November sun.  Comfortable cushions and kelims invited all to a relaxed barefoot service on the sand.  Pre-drinks, held at a private beach villa only a short walk away, saw guests tucking into scrumptious canapés with South African flavours after which time everyone had the opportunity to showcase their musical talents in an authentic African drumming circle. City eatery Caveau played host to the couple’s reception.  Without sacrificing the overall informal and enjoyably casual atmosphere of the day, the evening took a slightly more sophisticated turn and not surprisingly, DJ Rene had the crowd dancing the night away under the stars in this historical courtyard.
