The Story:
The groom hailing from Somerset West in Cape Town and the bride from Johannesburg, Tracey and Jared decided to keep it local and have their wedding in Elgin. Slightly off the beaten track and not your typical wine farm, this apple farm set the tone for a relaxed and peaceful wedding over the Easter weekend – a reminder later for the guests at their place settings which were attached to a box of mini Easter eggs. The ceremony was held in the wooden boat house overlooking the farm lake and the bride entered by walking down the aisle to a solo trumpet piece. The ceremony was a feast for the eyes with bright bursts of colour brought into every element from the daisy pomanders which lined the aisle to the dazzling confetti which was used to shower the guests and couple as they exited. Pre drinks, overlooking the Elgin Valley mountain range, allowed guests to enjoy the view while relaxing on the various lounge pockets and nibbling on some mouthwatering canapés made by Zest. This particular time of year was taken into account and when an April breeze came up after sunset, ladies were kept warm by silk pashminas in various colours that they could choose from. The reception was nothing short and colourful with bright green water glasses adding another element of clever colour. The meal was nothing short of a family feast with the passing of social platters of food around the tables. The decadent dessert platters had hardly been served and the dance floor was bursting at the seams for the rest of the night. The late night cheese and gammon rolls were devoured by the young to keep them fuelled for the rest of the party that lasted till the early hours of the next morning.
