Take Our Word:

Dare to be different. Don't be scared to mix together a variety of bold colours and keep the display varied by dressing each table slightly differently.  Remember, the devil is in the detail, so be sure to keep him at bay by planning quirky surprises along the lines of food and stationery that will delight your guests.

The Story:

Yolande and Ryno got married in Paarl with a ceremony that was elegant and personal. The couple exchanged personally written vows under a beautifully decorated gazebo of autumn branches budding with spring blossoms - one of Yolande’s favourite flowers. Guests were treated to sizzling hot canapés presented on stylish chalk boards along with shots of rich hot chocolate to keep them warm during the August sunset. When deciding on a winter wedding the couple wanted the overall style of the day to be bright, happy and uplifting. Okasie were able to translate this into gorgeous, bright, fresh hues of colour. A large assortment of candles created a warm, cosy romantic mood and contributed to the soft contemporary look of the table settings. Touches of the couples personalities were evident on the personalised menus. Clever Afrikaans idioms replaced the usual headings on beautifully themed stationery. The couple opened the dance floor to Summerwine by Villa Valo, before their guests joined them for some “serious” dancing. DJ Preston read the crowd superbly and supplied the perfect mix of local Afrikaans favourites and current tunes. Guests were then treated to a late night snack of mini hamburgers after working up an appetite on the dance floor.
